A Persuasive Breakfast

Persuasive writing is all around us. Think about where else you might come across persuasive writing features in action.

How has Kellogg's cereal used persuasive devices to entice us into eating Crunchy Nuts? Please give clear examples.

What are some other examples of persuasive adverts that tempt or draw you in?

6 comments:

  1. 1. 'What are you doing reading the back of the cereal box when you could be pouring yourself a delicious bowl of crunchy nut?
'Aren't you licking your lips at the thought of gorgeous golden flakes with delicious honey coating?
'Maybe your imagining the crunch of those delicious clusters in cold milk?
'You know they're irresistibly tasty, now go and enjoy them!'

    2. Everything that is said on the back of the box makes me right now want to eat a WHOLE BOXFUL of them. Because 1: I love honey, 2: I love the way that it draws you in with the language, 3: I haven't tried them before so I will know for when I do that my mouth will receive an AMAZING taste.

  2. Hi Miss C

this cereal box is telling you not to read the back of the box but to just go and eat the cereal by telling you all the good things about the cereal.

I don't really know of any other product that is persuading the person to by this product.

  3. I really like how the back of the cereal box is packed with description. One of the pieces of description was 'What are you doing reading the back of the cereal box when you could be pouring yourself a delicious bowl of crunchy nut?and 'Aren't you licking your lips at the thought of gorgeous golden flakes with delicious honey coating?. I also liked how it started with a rhetorical question at the start.

Question 1 Crunchy Nut has used words that make you feel hungry and make the ceral sound delicous. Some examples are delicous bowl, golden flakes, cold milk etc.

Question 2 The cabuarys advert is very apealing, because it has nice music to set the scene, and also who doesnt like chocolate??

    Herro Miss C

1 They have used interesting words to convince use that the cereal is very good and instead of reading the packet we should just eat it.

2 They added a picture and lots of big bold writing for the parts they want you to read and they use ALOT of discriptive language.

Up and Go ,ready for absolutely everything.
The Warehouse , everyone gets a bargin.

  6. They have tried to covince you to eat the cereal whilst making a image in your mind.

But it seems like they are trying to stop you rom reading the contents of the cereal.
