Enhancing the Halo Presentation
We were privileged to have Nick and Geoff from the Halo Trust come to 'Lucky 13' to talk to us about the Enhancing the Halo Project. We learnt how we can make Wellington New Zealand's natural capital by making all our back yards into safe havens for native wildlife.
What did you think about the presentation?
Has it made you think differently about our native birds?
Where you persuaded into becoming a halo household?

Hi miss C. I thought that the presantation was well delivered though it would of been better if they had hyperlinks instead of skipping past all the pages to get to one.
ReplyDeleteIt was also good to learn more about our native birds and our enviroment. I also found out how new zealand had more birds and how the kiwi lost its wings and how the kereu got drunk on berries.
Well was I persauded to become a halo house hold. I can safley say I am going halo
Dear MIss C
ReplyDelete1 I thought the presentation was very persuasive and they used all the evidence they could to persuade the viewer.
2 YEs it has made me think differently about our wildlife because they have the same right to live here without harm as we do.
3 I think I'm already a HALO HOUSEHOLD because I get Pukeko, Tui, Goldfinch and Fantails all the time in my back yard

ReplyDeleteI thought the presentation by Gareth was well worded, well said, well virtually everything.
ReplyDeleteI always used to think about bird-life and how they have survived for years, I have always been grumpy when I saw a bird that had been savaged by some rogue cat.
I am really thinking that I am a Halo household because we don't normally get predators and we get quite a lot of Silver-eye, Piwakawaka (Fantail), Tui (Parson Bird) and others.
I think that the presentation was very persuasive and very well said. It made me think that if I made my house a Halo household it would it would make NZ a step closer to a better place. I don't think that it made me think otherwise but it could happen.
ReplyDeleteHi Miss C
ReplyDeleteThe presentation has made me realise that more and more NZ wildlife is becoming extinct and only we can save the wildlife.
My family's property is all ready halo because we get Piwakawaka, morepork, tui and some other types of birds and now we are just trying to remove pests.
